Who are we?
Who are BOTB?

BOTB (Best of the Best plc) has been running competitions since 1999 and has given away over £25 million of prizes so far. Every week there are guaranteed winners in both the Dream Car and Lifestyle Competition.

We're a UK-based company, listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and are therefore required to adhere to the highest legal and audit standards. We currently employ approximately 20 staff.

You can see who works here, as well as information about who is on the Board of Directors and details of our lawyers, auditors and financial advisers in the About section.

Where is BOTB based?

Our Head Office address is 2 Plato Place, 72-74 St Dionis Road, London SW6 4TU. We used to be in nearly 20 different airports and shopping centres, but we have now moved online at www.botb.com. There's one remaining BOTB stand in the departure lounge at Birmingham airport, where our friendly staff will be happy to assist you. You can also find us at big motoring events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed every summer!

We can be contacted on +44 (0)20 7371 8866 or via email at info@botb.com. Tweet us @BOTB_Supercars, get in touch through our Facebook page - facebook.com/BOTBdreamcars or follow us on Instagram

What's Spot the Ball and why do you use it?

We are legally obliged to use a game of skill to determine the winner of our competitions - not simply a lottery or raffle. We use 'Spot the Ball' as it's widely recognised, fun and an easy way to enter. You will be shown a photograph that does not contain a ball.

You must use your skill and judgement to decide where you think the centre of the ball should be. Your chosen points will be recorded as (x,y) coordinates.

How is the winner decided?

At the end of the competition, the same 'Spot the Ball' picture you used to choose your coordinates is shown to a judging panel comprised of professional sporting experts.

In the presence of an independent lawyer they mark where they think, in their professional opinion, the centre of the ball should be.

The winner is simply the person who is closest to the judged position.

Why don't you use the original ball position to judge the winner?

The basis of the game must categorically be the skill of an entrant versus the skill of professionals - not versus the chance that the original spot on the football picture is picked. It is a subtle but important legal definition by which we are bound to operate.

The panel of judges is formed of experienced professionals on a rotating basis, including both referees and players, who each offer their best opinion.

Using a panel of judges ensures that nobody can ever know the original position of the ball - resulting in a process that is fair, transparent, audited and honest.

What happens if more than one person is equidistant to the judges position?

There can only be one winner. If a case arises where two or more players are equally close to the judges position in a competition, the winner will be determined by calculating the next closest entry of the players in question. The person with the closest second ticket is then the outright winner. If any player in this 'equidistant' scenario has only one ticket, all players that qualify will participate in another Spot the Ball competition online to determine the outright winner.

All 'equidistant' players who do not win outright, will receive £500 in cash and £500 in Dream Car Credit if playing the Dream Car Competition, and £200 in cash and £200 in Dream Car Credit if playing the Lifestyle Competition. Please be sure to read the full terms and conditions

When does the Dream Car Competition finish and when are the results announced?

There's a Dream Car winner every week. Competitions run from midnight until midnight (UK time*), Monday to Sunday, 52 weeks a year. Judging takes place on a Monday morning and the winner will usually be surprised in person by BOTB on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Results will be announced to all entrants once the winner has been notified. Competition results will be posted on our website and you will also receive notification via email. You can log in to your Account to check the results, see how close you were and to see if you have earned any rewards in the form of Dream Car Credit.

* GMT / BST; UTC / UTC+1

When does the Lifestyle Competition finish and when are the results announced?

There's a Lifestyle Competition winner every week. Competitions run from midnight until midnight (UK time*), Monday to Sunday, 52 weeks a year. Judging takes place on a Monday morning and the winner will usually be video called by BOTB on Monday afternoon.

Results will be announced to all entrants once the winner has been notified. Competition results will be posted on our website and you will also receive notification via email. You can log in to your Account to check the results and see how close you were.

What if I don’t agree with the judging?

You may not agree with the Judges perfectly each week! But many others will, including the guaranteed winner. The panel of professional judges do the best possible job they can, and we would ask you to consider that they are fair and logical over a good period of time. It is a subjective process and has to be, by law.

Winners and Prizes
How many winners have there been and can I win outside the UK?

Since 1999 we've given away over £25 million worth of cars to more than 450 winners from many countries all around the globe.  About 80% of our players are from the UK so as you would expect a lot of our winners are as well, but we have also had many international winners.

See winners world map or meet all of our winners here.

Are there winners of every car/prize each week?

Entrants can choose from 180+ cars in the Dream Car Competition line-up and at the end of each week, one car is won. The Lifestyle Competition operates in the same way, with a single prize awarded from the 200+ available to choose from.

The winner is determined by matching the judged coordinates from the Spot the Ball game (as chosen by our panel of expert judges) to the closest of all the entries.

20 Runners Up prizes are also awarded, as well as Dream Car Credit in the Dream Car Competition.

What is Dream Car Credit and how do I win it?

Dream Car Credit is won as a reward for doing well in Dream Car Competitions only. Dream Car Credit can only be used to enter Dream Car Competitions and cannot be exchanged for cash or used in the Lifestyle Competition.

You can play the Dream Car Competition for free if you have enough Dream Car Credit, or you can use it in part payment. Dream Car Credit will automatically be deducted from your account at checkout with any qualifying purchase.

You can also earn Dream Car Credit by Referring a Friend if you are a member of the Supercharged Club

Please note: Dream Car Credit will expire - check your Account for details.

Is there a cash alternative?

Yes! The Cash Alternative is usually 80% of the UK RRP of the prize. View the prize details for actual cash alternative amounts.

Do you help with insuring and servicing my Dream Car when I win?

Yes! Depending on the value of the car won, BOTB will pay up to £1,500 towards insurance costs and up to £400 for servicing. See terms and conditions for full details.

Can I choose whether my car is Right or Left Hand drive?

Yes - where available! Most cars can be supplied in Left or Right hand drive. Please see full terms and conditions for further information.

Do you deliver cars outside the UK and will there be any tax to pay?

We will deliver your car or other prize anywhere in the world, free of charge. All cars are delivered with UK VAT paid. There may, however, be further import/registration or luxury goods duties in certain countries which in general we do not pay for.

In some cases it may be preferable to take the cash alternative and then buy the equivalent car in your country - which we we can of course assist with. See terms and conditions for full details on deliveries, taxes and the cash alternative options.

Who decides what cars and other prizes can be won?

We do - with your help! There are 180+ cars in our Dream Car Competition line-up, with more added regularly.

There are 200+ Motorbikes, Watches, Holidays, Tech and other amazing prizes in the Lifestyle Competition. Each week we ask you to vote on which ones you would like to see added.

We always welcome all your suggestions, so please do get in touch by emailing info@botb.com.

How often do you update information on the cars and other prizes?

Specifications, reviews, RRP and availability of cars in the Dream Car Competition are correct as of December 2018. All prices and specs are checked on a quarterly basis and whilst we endeavour to ensure they are accurate, we cannot be held responsible for slight inaccuracies due to manufacturers adjusting details without notice.

How can I get further information?

We'd love to help. Feel free to call us during office hours on +44 (0)20 7371 8866 or email us at info@botb.com and we will get straight back to you.

New Midweek Competition
What is the new competition?

The mid-week competition runs for 7 days from Wednesday midnight to Wednesday midnight (GMT). It is a new, fun and cheap to enter competition, with a guaranteed winner and tickets from just 25p each. There are a range of prizes including a Mini Cooper S or  Suzuki Jimny 4x4; £10,000 and £5,000 cash.  The winner will be surprised with a phone call or in person on the Friday after the draw.

How is the winner chosen?

All entrants must answer a skilled question to participate. Only one answer may be chosen per order. All correct entries will be entered into a straight draw to determine the winner.

Who oversees the draw?

The draw is undertaken entirely independently of BOTB by our certified partner PromoVeritas (www.promoveritas.com) and overseen by solicitors. They will select a winner entirely at random from the correct entries.

Are there runners up prizes?

There will be a single winner of the car and 20 runners up prizes of £20 each in Dream Car Credit.

Why are you not using Spot The Ball?

We have operated all of our competitions using Spot The Ball (STB) for the last 20 years and we thought it was time to experiment with something different!

The boring stuff

Tickets are limited to 150 per customer. Dream Car Credit cannot be used towards payment. Tickets purchased will, however, count towards your Supercharged tier. There are four ticket prices at 25p, 50p, 90p and £1.00 per ticket. Insurance and Servicing is not included as part of the prize.
