We love the new Corvette Stingray here at BOTB. Bargain prices, great looks and epic performance from the big V8 mean it’s a surefire winner.

But what if you demand a little more exclusivity and practicality from your V8 coupe? Well worry not, because US-based tuner Callaway has the car for you – the Corvette Aerowagon. Featuring a very fashionable new shoot brake rear end, the conversion for the Stingray is relatively inexpensive compared to the other options, which are? Well, if you want a shooting brake style coupe, you’re pretty much limited to the Ferrari FF, which is a rather expensive option.

The Aerowagon adds a new rear deck to the Corvette, retaining the rear valance and tail lights from the coupe, which helps to bring costs down. What you get is a more practical rear end with a teak-lined floor and a small hatchback for access to the new load area.

It may seem a little, well, silly, but we love this idea. Especially when we look at the prices. The Corvette Stingray costs just $51,000 in base spec (which still means a 455 bhp 6.2 litre V8) and the Callaway conversion is around $15,000, so you could have an exclusive V8 shooting brake for just £40,000. Amazing value.

The conversion is available only in the US, but then if you’re importing a Corvette from the US yourself, you could surely get the conversion done prior to shipping.

Either way, we just love this concept and can’t wait to see our first one on the roads.
