Audi ABT SQ5

Audi ABT SQ5

REVIEW

The Audi Q5 is the quintessential medium sized luxury SUV, while the SQ5 was one of the first performance SUVs on the market. That first generation model came with a diesel engine, then the second generation came with a petrol engine, but thanks to WLTP regulations the SQ5 now returns to the 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine which is ripe for some performance enhancement. Also the bodywork isn’t very aggressive, so ABT have come along to fix both aspects. On the exterior they fit their wide body kit, which adds wider front and rear arches and a more aggressive front bumper, a rear bumper with quad exhaust pipes and sports springs which lower the SQ5. When combined with the stunning 22-inch alloy wheels the SQ5 gets a whole lot more attitude. To back up the looks the engine gets a tweak too, upping power to 384bhp and torque to a staggering 760Nm - over 200Nm more than the old petrol model! This is a serious looking performance SUV that will now embarrass a lot of sports cars too.
