Unlike some other manufacturers, Audi has decided to make the e-tron look just like a normal SUV that just happens to have an EV drivetrain, so from a distance you could think it was a new Q5 or Q8.

Only when you get closer do you start to notice the more funky EV details, like the orange brake calipers and its genuinely unique feature – cameras instead of door mirrors!

That’s right, the future is finally here and the e-tron is the first production car to have (optional) virtual door mirrors where on the end of a stalk there’s a bullet shaped camera feeding images back to the little screens near the interior A-pillar.

Why? As well as looking cool, they reduce drag massively, adding a fair few miles to the range at motorway speeds.

Speaking of range, the 86.5kWh usable battery allows a real-world range of around 270 miles on the WLTP test cycle. Add in that it will be able to use the new 150kW fast chargers where you can add 80% charge in 20 mins and range anxiety is a thing of the past.
