Audi RS7 Sportback

Audi RS7 Sportback

REVIEW

With all the excitement around the old Audi RS6 it was easy to overlook it’s slightly weird brother – the RS7. It had quirky styling and never really looked as good as the RS6 so sold in small numbers. But now we have a new RS6 Avant (which uses A7 headlights to look more aggressive) and so true to form there’s now a new RS& Sportback as well – though we doubt this one is going to stand in it’s brother’s shadow this time. With the same front end styling as the RS6 it’s utterly menacing, yet on this RS7 the roof tapers to a stunning rear end with full-width lighting and the signature twin oval exhausts. This is a stunning vehicle to behold, the perfect mix of looking sleek, sporting and aggressive and perfect for those who want their RS-fix but don’t need the Estate bodywork. As with that model, the RS7 packs a new mild-hybrid-ised twin turbo 4.0 V8 producing 591bhp and 800Nm of torque. That’s enough to haul this big beastie to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds on the way to the 174mph top speed. Yes please Audi, we’ll take ours in red with the 22-inch alloys!
