Audi SQ2

Audi SQ2

REVIEW

The rise in popularity of SUVs in the last 10yrs has been incredible – every manufacturer is creating more and more models to satisfy the buying public’s desire for a higher-riding car. But what happens if you want an SUV but still want great performance? Well, that’s where the new breed of performance SUVs comes in and at the smaller end of the scale, we now have this – the Audi SQ2. Based on their smallest SUV, it looks stylish, funky and perfect for the city, but with the addition of the S to the front of that badge, it now gets a whole chunk more aggression as well. There are massive intakes and grilles at the front, big wheels and at the back four exhaust pipes jut out of the rear bumper. Those aren’t just for show either, as under the bonnet sits the 2.0 litre, 296bhp turbocharged 4c-cylinder motor from the S3, driven through a 7spd DSG gearbox to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. So now you have looks, practicality, performance and all-weather traction in one small package.
