« Back BMW 1M
Back in 2010 BMW was on a roll. They had the super successful e92 M3 with its glorious V8 and the X5 and X6 had just gained controversial M models. So the engineers at M-GmbH decided that they were going to set about the smallest coupe in the range – the 1-Series.
Now the 1 Coupe wasn’t the best looking car, with a blunt nose and oddly saloon-like boot, and that didn’t change much with the M additions – what they did add were massively swollen wheelarches to give the 1M a much-needed dose of aggression and stance.
So why 1M and not M1? Well if you flick backwards through BMW’s history you’ll find a gorgeous mid engine supercar in the 80’s called the M1, so that’s why!
Power came from a familiar turbocharged inline-6 producing 335bhp, which was enough to give this 1M enough performance to keep it hugely fun while not having you stare at the speedo all the time.
Many at the time, and more since have stated that the 1M is one of the all-time M/// greats – to drive one is to want one.
The winner can choose a BMW 1M from the used market up to the value of £55,000.
This car comes with £50,000 cash included in the price of your ticket.
