« Back BMW M240i xDrive
The old BMW 2-Series coupe was always hugely popular, especially in M240i guise. Yes, the M2 always got all the headlines, but the M240i was the sweet spot, with not enough power to be silly, yet still huge fun to drive.
Well now there’s a new M240i and thankfully it hasn’t been beaten with the ugly stick like a few recent BMW models. There are slim, wide kidney grilles at the front with huge triangular intakes in the bumper. It’s super aggressive and stylish, especially with the standard silver gold accents to the grilles and wheels.
There’s a long bonnet and short boot, which gives a classic coupe profile, while the rear is modern and sporty, with a little boot lip spoiler and the usual twin exhaust outlets in the bumper.
The M240i retains a 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six engine, but now produces 369bhp and 500Nm of torque. Power is now sent to all four wheels using BMW’s xDrive system, via the standard 8-speed automatic gearbox (no manual this time).
All in all, the new M240i looks to be a great mid range performance coupe, with practicality, great looks and punchy performance.
