« Back Ford Focus RS Shmee150 Red Edition
As this week’s ITH is all about Influencers, and the best of the best is Shmee150, we thought we should add in one of the cars that he is so passionate about – a recreation of his tuned Ford Focus RS. Now Shmee really is RS-crazy, he had a blue one, now he has his RS tuning project AND a limited run of 50 Heritage Edition in orange.
Now he really has gone to town on this Red Edition – they were pretty limited anyway, but now his red RS is a true one-off (soon to be one of two if someone wins this prize!). On the exterior there’s a full carbon fibre bodykit by Ventus Veloce, which replaces every bit of black plastic with gorgeous carbon fibre, then there are a set of BBS alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tyres.
Under the vented carbon fibre bonnet the engine gets Mountune’s M400R kit, along with forged pistons and conrods. This results in a healthy boost in power and a mammoth 120Nm more torque. Helping to stop you is Mountune’s brake upgrade kit too. And as if that isn’t enough, the interior will also get a retrim in alcantara from Protrim, who added a whole load of really nice touches and made the interior feel far more upmarket. Spec is as below:
Focus RS Red Edition (to be bought on second hand market – no longer available new)
Ventus Veloce Carbon Bodykit inc. bonnet, front splitter, front grille, fog light surrounds, canards, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, side skirts
BBS CI-R Wheels & Michelin P4S tyres
Mountune M400R kit:
High-flow induction kit
Sound Suppression Chamber (SSC)
Uprated turbo re-circ valve
High-flow hard pipe
High-performance alloy intercooler
3" downpipe with 200-cell sports catalyst
3" V3 cat-back exhaust
mTune handset with m400 calibration
Mountune Forged Pistons & Conrods
Mountune Brake Upgrade
Interior retrim by Prototrim
Total prize value is £60,000 which includes the fitting of all the above parts.
To reiterate – the Focus RS Red Edition is no longer available new, however there are a few cars available on the second hand market with almost no miles, so we would work with the winner to select one of these cars to be used for this modifying project. There would be an extended period of time after collection of the car for all the work to be undertaken. This is not for Shmee's actual car!
