Jaguar F-Type V6S Cabrio

Jaguar F-Type V6S Cabrio Airport

REVIEW

This has been a long time coming – almost 40 years in fact – a new small 2-seater Jaguar Convertible. Since E-Type production ended, Jaguar has tried their hand at the large 2+2 convertible market a couple of times with the XJS and XK convertibles, but they were grand tourers. What Jaguar needed was a sports car, and now they have it with the new F-Type – with short overhangs, wide track and a wildly curvaceous body that looks powerful and lithe. Looking so gorgeous that you just want to sit and stare at it is a good starting point, but the F-Type also has an incredible interior that wraps around the driver like a fighter jet cockpit. And we haven’t got to the powerplant yet – in this V6S model a 3.0 litre supercharged V6 with 375 bhp meaning 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds on the way to a 171mph top speed. All this would satisfy most people, but Jaguar have also engineered in the most fruity, screaming, naughty exhaust note this side of a 1980’s Group B rally car. Perfection…
