Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2

Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2

REVIEW

The Lamborghini Gallardo was in production for a staggering 10 years with over 14,000 produced, making it the most successful Lamborghini ever. So it must have been quite a daunting task to replace it, but replace it they have… Taking the stunning design language seen on the Aventador, the Huracan takes the fight directly to the supercar rivals with a shape that could only be a Lamborghini. Low, aggressive nose, kicked up rear and angles all over, the Huracan looks positively evil. With the new 5.2 litre V10 the performance is electrifying, hitting 62 mph in 3.4 seconds on the way to a 199mph top speed. As this is the LP580-2 model that means two things – the engine puts out 572bhp (580PS, hence the name) and that power goes to just the rear wheels (that’ll be the -2 bit) via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. This means this is the purists Huracan, weight is down thanks to the loss of those front driveshafts and the steering is sweeter – okay you don’t get that all-weather security but it’s a precision driving machine and you have to respect it. Then you can understand just how sweetly it handles and you can relax and enjoy your favourite twisty roads echoing to the sound of that glorious V10.
