Lotus 3-Eleven

Lotus 3-Eleven

REVIEW

Lotus has got a bit of history with stripped out track specials, namely the 2-Eleven that came out in 2007. That was basically an Exige of the time with the 1.8 supercharged four cylinder engine tuned to 250bhp and most of the bodywork removed. It was incredibly popular among enthusiasts, so Lotus has gone the same way again – take the current Exige V6S, tune it up to 404bhp and remove most of the body – and interior – there’s just a dial pod and a wheel in there. The result is an incredibly focused road/track car that weighs just 925kg – that gives a power to weight ratio of 435bhp/tonne. But the raw speed isn’t the only ace up the 3-Eleven’s sleeve – this is from Lotus of course, the Kings of precise handling. So this track car will run rings around even faster machinery as the driver has total confidence in the car’s abilities. A screaming V6 exhaust note is just the icing on the cake really, the cake being the most fun you can probably have in a road car. **Cash alternative: 80% of the ex-VAT UK RRP **
