The Lotus Evora was the first car in a very ill-fated plan to launch many new Lotus models in one go, in fact was the only one to make production and was met with a slightly lukewarm reception at first. As with all Lotuses it was fast, had great handling and looked great, but given that it was meant to be a more usable Grand Touring Lotus it was very hard to get in and out of and the interior quality wasn’t up there with other cars at the same price. In 2015 they brought out the Evora 400 which featured lower and thinner sills so it was far easier to get in and interior improvements too, but as always people want more, so this GT car has taken on a more sporting edge with this GT410 Sport. There’s 10bhp more, but more importantly it weighs around 150kg less. This is thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the bodywork and makes the already nimble Evora feel like a thoroughbred sports car. Visually there’s a new front end with bigger intakes and more aerodynamic splitter to reduce lift along with wider wings for more grip, while at the back there’s a stunning gloss carbon engine and rear spoiler decklid which could be hung in your house as a piece of art it’s so nice to look at. This is the Lotus to have in 2019!
