MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS
When Mini launched the new Cooper in 2001 it set a new benchmark for the segment. It was fast, great handling, fun and had great styling which meant that sales went through the roof and continued right through the second-generation model which was sold worldwide to great success.
But times change and now we’re on the third generation of Mini hatchback. Before the Cooper S used to be the top dog, then they added the John Cooper Works pack. Now the JCW is its own model sitting at the top of the regular production model tree (there’s a limited GP at the very top usually) and what a car it is!
Still fairly diminutive by modern hatchback standards, the JCW packs a 228bhp punch thanks to the four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which means 0-62mph is dealt with in 6.3 seconds on the way to a 146mph top speed – not bad for a little hot hatch! But the really impressive thing is the way this JCW tackles a set of twisty bends – it’s such huge fun you’ll be turning around just to drive them again!
For 2021 the JCW is brought in line with the newly facelifted Mini hatchback range, with an aggressive new front end, dark tinted lights front and rear and a whole host of new tech inside including a new digital display for the driver.
AUDI RS6 AVANT
Hello beautiful stranger!! Finally, one of our favourite cars (and yours!) is back... and you could win it with BOTB.
As you’d expect, the all-new 2020 Audi RS6 Avant comes with a powerhouse of an engine – the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 has been tweaked and now has a 48v mild hybrid system to allow cylinder shutdown and energy recovery – but more importantly, it now has 591bhp and 800Nm of torque.
Yes, that’s 1bhp down on the old model but don’t forget this is the ‘base’ RS6 and that was the Performance model (which is on its way)! So that power goes to all four wheels with a 40/60 front/rear split which, combined with the fact that it’s lighter than the old model, means it has supercar destroying performance – 3.6 seconds to 62mph... in a 5dr estate car!
Top speed is 155mph as standard, but with different option packs that can be increased to 174 mph - or even 190mph!
And Audi Sport haven’t skimped on the looks either, with pumped up arches (80mm wider than the standard A6), headlights from the A7, a super-aggressive front bumper and of course the obligatory twin oval RS exhausts at the rear.
21-inch wheels are standard with 22’s an option. This really is the ultimate big fast estate car and you can win your very own Audi RS6 - get your tickets now!
This car comes with £50,000 cash included in the price of your ticket.
