Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

REVIEW

Well, here it is – the all-new 8th Generation Porsche 911. No really, we promise it’s the new one! As is always the case with Porsche’s 911, it’s a case of evolution rather than revolution so we have a car that to the casual observer looks almost identical to the previous 911, but is comprehensively improved in every area. As seems to be the trend, the new 911 grows – the wheelbase is longer and crucially all 911s now have the wide-body previously reserved for the 4WD models. But power is also up across the board, with this Carrera 4S model’s 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six now producing 444bhp and 530Nm – that’s enough for 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds or 3.4 seconds if you choose the Sport Chrono option thanks to this model’s 4WD setup giving superior traction off the line. There’s a whole host of new tech for the revised interior too, but basically, this is New 911 just as it always was – pretty much the best all-round sports car on sale today. Refined, great handling in all weather, fast, practical, and fantastic to look at with a badge that has 70 years of history behind it. This is going to be a popular one!
