Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet

Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet

The Porsche 911 has throughout its history been about evolution rather than revolution. The shape has stayed broadly the same, as has the layout and the use of the flat-six engine. But there was a step-change with the 996 variant in 1998 when it went from air cooled to water cooled and now there’s been another change with the 991 Gen 2 as all the Carrera models now adopt a new 3.0 twin turbo flat-six engine. There are small exterior tweaks to keep it fresh, but the big news is that new engine. This new GTS Cabriolet model now gets an incredible 444bhp which means 4.2 seconds to 62mph and a top speed of 192mph – incredible stats that aren’t too far off the previous 997 Turbo. Being a GTS model you also get all the best options thrown together for less than they cost, like centre-lock Turbo S wheels, Sport Chrono, Sports Exhaust and Porsche Active Suspension Management. And of course you have that delicious RWD handling and a convertible roof so you can enjoy the best driving roads all through the summer, listening to that exhaust note reverberate off the passing walls. The most complete sports car just got even better…
