The Range Rover Sport has always been one of the most popular cars in the BOTB Competition and has been won more than 20 times since 2012!
Taking some of the styling seen on the Velar there are new headlights, a new grille and a more angular front bumper that manages to modernise and update the look of the Sport and means it doesn’t look old and frumpy next to the Velar! There are some minor changes at the rear with updated rear lights and rear bumper, but the biggest changes are inside.
The Sport interior was always nice, but now it takes the centre console from the Velar, with the large central screen and another screen directly below it to control the climate and other systems. It’s a seriously futuristic looking thing with screens there and directly ahead of you in the binnacle.
This latest HST model sees the introduction of Jaguar Land Rover's newest engine and their first mild hybrid - a brand new 3.0 litre straight-six engine which has an electric supercharger and a twin scroll turbo to give it 396bhp and 550Nm of torque. A 48V electrical system powers that supercharger and gives a boost while the main turbo spools up, eliminating lag and meaning the car doesn't have to work as hard when accelerating.
Emissions come down and economy goes up compared to the old 3.0 V6 engine as well, so to us it all sounds like a win-win!
