Win a Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4S + £2k with BOTB!
The 996 generation of Porsche 911 wasn’t greatly loved when launched, but in 2001 the facelift with new ‘fried egg’ headlights and a whole host of mechanical improvements turned it into the car it always should’ve been. The top dog at the time was the Turbo, but that had a big price tag, so Porsche decided to introduce a cheaper model with most of the Turbo’s style – the Carrera 4S.
So outside it had the Turbo’s front bumper with the twin large intakes, the Turbo’s angled 5-spoke wheels and the Turbo’s rear vented bumper along with the wider body of the 4WD drivetrain. It really had 99% of the looks, and some even say it looks better without the big rear wing of the Turbo.
Underneath it had the Carrera S’s 3.6 litre flat-six engine, producing 316bhp and 370Nm of torque, going through a manual gearbox to all four wheels. This gave more than ample performance that could be enjoyed in all weather.
As modern classics go, you can’t get much better than the Carrera 4S which is fast on it’s way to becoming a future classic car star.
The Carrera 4S is a brilliant usable modern classic, and you could win one in the BOTB Midweek Lifestyle Competition!
Note: Winner can choose a Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4S on the second hand market up to the value of £32,000.
