« Back Audi ABT SQ2
The rise in popularity of SUVs in the last 10yrs has been incredible – every manufacturer is creating more and more models to satisfy the buying public’s desire for a higher-riding car. But what happens if you want an SUV but still want great performance?
Well, that’s where the new breed of performance SUVs comes in and at the smaller end of the scale, we now have this – the Audi SQ2. Based on their smallest SUV, it looks stylish, funky and perfect for the city, but with the addition of the S to the front of that badge, it now gets a whole chunk more aggression as well.
There are massive intakes and grilles at the front and at the back four exhaust pipes jut out of the rear bumper. Those aren’t just for show either, as under the bonnet sits a 2.0 litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder motor, driven through a 7spd DSG gearbox to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
But this is no ordinary SQ2 – this particular car has been to Die Audituningmeisters at ABT, so the former 300hp is now 350hp and torque is up to 440Nm.
We started with an SQ2 Black Edition too, so it already has more spec and looks better, but we’re also adding in a set of stunning 20-inch ABT GR alloy wheels and tyres to give it extra visual menace.
And you can win one in the Midweek BOTB Car Competition!
