« Back Ford Focus ST Edition
The Focus ST may not be the craziest, fastest or most outlandish hot hatch on the market, but Ford is the grandaddy of the hot hatch and the ST doesn’t disappoint.
But as good as the standard Focus ST is, it has to be made a little softer for the mainstream market – thankfully Ford Performance has been given some cash recently to develop more Focus-sed (sorry) models as seen with the Fiesta ST Edition, and now we have this – the Focus ST Edition.
Visually there is an exclusive Azura Blue paint colour – the only option – with a gloss black roof which really helps the ST Edition stand out. Also helping are the 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres and lowered ride height.
The Focus ST Edition features the same 2.3 litre Ecoboost turbocharged four-cylinder engine putting out 276bhp and 420Nm of torque as the standard car, but there’s a whole lot changed under the skin. That power goes to the front wheels only via a six-speed manual gearbox an electronic limited slip differential to aid traction.
But fast Fords have always been about their handling and this ST Edition gets bespoke KW Automotive suspension with powder coated blue springs which as standard have a 10mm lower ride height than the standard ST. But they can be manually adjusted with 12 bounce and 16 rebound settings so you can get the setup exactly as you want it, and that ride height drop can be increased to 20mm.
With all this handling hardware, expect the Focus ST Edition to be an absolute weapon on road and track and we can’t wait to get a go in one!
