Win a proper off-road Jeep!

To the casual observer, the latest Jeep Wrangler probably looks no different to the one before, but this is exactly what Jeep wanted – totally revamp their iconic model but keep the things people loved about it, much like the new Mercedes G-Wagon.

So the styling is largely the same, with the wide stick-out arches, slatted grille and exposed hinges on the doors. They even still offer the fold-down windscreen, while the roof has two lift out targa panels, and the whole rear can be taken off should the weather permit. You can even take the doors off.

Inside it’s more of the same with the slab-fronted dash and exposed screwheads. But under the skin everything has changed – in fact pretty much the whole vehicle is new – with the aim of making it far more refined and usable.

There’s a new 268bhp, 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine up front mated to an 8spd auto gearbox, and a permanent 4WD system – this is still a proper off-roader with low ranges and mega ground clearance. But there are also now extra bits of tech, decent infotainment interfaces and even the ride is improved. This 2dr is in Rubicon spec too, so it has all the off roading credentials you could want, like 33-inch tyres, locking front and rear diffs, detachable front stabiliser bar and Jeep's awesome Rock-Trac 4WD system all as standard.

It’s still no silent cruiser, but this is now a Wrangler you could use every day and you’ll have a blast doing so! Get your tickets for the Midweek car competition here!
