It seems as if these days every facet of the VW Group has a performance hatchback powered by the new EA888 2.0 litre turbo engine, and while the old Leon Cupra was Seat's weapon of choice in the hot hatch arena, time marches on and now we the replacement - the Cupra Leon (as this now falls under the Cupra brand).
So the Leon is now an all new car, based on the same chassis as the Mk8 Golf, so there's more rear room and a whole host of cool tech. Up front sits the 296bhp 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine, powering the front wheels only via the lightning-quick 7-speed DSG gearbox. That means performance is seriously brisk, with 0-62mph coming up in 5.4 seconds on the way to a limited 155mph top speed.
Visually this new model is certainly a little less exciting than the older model, opting for under-the-radar looks that mean you really would have little clue that this was a hot hatch with 296bhp. But it's sleek, subtle and sporty all the same.
Inside gets a real upgrade over the old model though, with plenty of tech, big screens and aliberal coating of bronze details to the trim.
You could win this hot hatch in the BOTB midweek car competition!
This car comes with £20,000 cash included in the price of your ticket.
