« Back Volkswagen Arteon R Shooting Brake
If you wanted a big, stylish, fast estate car you’ve always been hard pressed to find something that fits the bill in the VW stable. The Passat hasn’t had a performance variant for a long time and even then, it’s just a bit too sensible these days.
But VW now has the Arteon and more recently, the super-stylish Arteon Shooting Brake. A rakish, great looking pseudo-estate that may be a practical car, but not a boxy boring one.
So it was with great joy that they announced that this new Shooting Brake would be getting an R variant, making this an AWD, DSG alternative to cars like the Volvo V60 Polestar, BMW M340i and Audi S4 Avant.
The powerplant is certainly familiar in VW Group cars – the 2.0 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine shared with the new Golf R and sharing its 315bhp output. In this guise it means 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds which is plenty fast enough for your pooch in the back.
The R car for people who need a bit more practicality and style. We think is going to be very popular indeed.
This car comes with £20,000 cash included in the price of your ticket.
