Hot Thatch!

Chris Connolly currently drives a Mk6 Golf, but has always dreamt of owning the ultimate model in the range – the ‘R’. Due to the inclement weather today, thatcher Chris was at home instead of being up on a roof, and he was stunned when Christian knocked on his door to tell him his wish had come true! And things got better still - Chris not only won this hottest of hatches worth £35,000, but also £20,000 in cash…which he’s promised girlfriend Charlotte they’ll put towards a mortgage – congratulations to you both!

Long Melford man stunned after winning £20,000 and new car in competition

Mar 2019

A man from Long Melford could not believe his luck after becoming the double winner of a new car and a cash prize.

Chris Connolly won £20,000 and a new Volkswagen Golf R after playing BOTB – a luxury car competition.

The 34-year-old thatcher plans to use the cash sum to put down a deposit on his first property with partner Charlotte.

“We’ve been struggling to get the money together for a deposit, so this is going to be a huge help,” he said.

When Mr Connolly was presented with both prizes, his car was at the garage undergoing repair work.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said.

Mr Connolly had only played the online game five times, and first entered the weekly competition last month.

He added: “I don’t think you ever really expect to win these things, but I certainly didn’t think it would happen this fast.”
