Alan Wins a £70,000 Jag {{favouriteCount}}

AN Alcester hairdresser had the surprise of his life when he was told he had won a car worth almost £70,000.

Alan Purvis, of Alan Purvis Hair, entered a competition on the Best of the Best website botb.com.

The company gives people the chance to win the car of their dreams. It was established in 1999 and since then more than 200 winners have driven away in more than £12 million of the world's most desirable cars.

On Monday, August 5, managing director of Best of the Best, William Hindmarsh, armed with a camera man to record the excitement, travelled to Alcester to present Mr Purvis with his new Jaguar F-Type.

The pair entered the salon, much to the surprise of the hairdresser, and a client, and broke the news.

Mr Purvis, who had entered competitions on the botb website on a number of different occasions, said: “It was really great, I was obviously pleased. And my friends and family are all really happy for me too.”

Asked if he ever thought he would win when he entered the competition, he said he always thought he had a chance, or he wouldn’t have entered it.

It will be several months before Mr Purvis receives his car as the company makes sure its winners receive a vehicle to their exact specifications.
