Dorset mother of four wins £35k car in competition
A Dorset mother of four has won a £35,000 car in an online competition despite not being able to drive.
Jacqueline Kitchener was the winner of BOTB's weekly dream car competition, bagging herself a Ford Focus RS Mk1.
The car was delivered to her home by BOTB presenters Christian Williams and Katie Knight while she was in her pyjamas.
The 53-year-old said: "I'm obviously very happy, but still in shock.
"I've never won anything before."
"When I saw the BOTB team, and they told me I’d won, I was absolutely gobsmacked.
"My kids are over the moon and people in my street have been congratulating me."
Jacqueline said she had only been playing the BOTB competition for about a month after hearing about it from her son-in-law, a regular player.
She now plans to take the cash alternative, which she’ll use to improve her garden, treat her children – and make her upcoming trip to Turkey extra special.
She added: "This is going to change our lives a lot."
The Ford Focus RS Mk1 – considered a modern classic – is known for its distinctive styling and 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
Jacqueline was invited to sit in the car by the BOTB team and fire up the engine.
"I wish I could drive," she joked.
Christian said: "The RS Mk1 is a real driver's car, but in Jacqueline’s case, the cash will go a long way in creating happiness in other areas – for her, her family and even her late mum.
"Even though she can’t drive, seeing her sit in the car and start it up with such joy was a great moment."
Katie added: "Jacqueline clearly has a big heart, and the fact she’s planning to treat her kids and transform her garden really shows how much this means to her.
"We couldn’t be happier for her."
BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week, as well as offering lifestyle prizes.
Founded in 1999, BOTB has given away £103m worth of cars so far.
