A man from Essex has scooped a £60,000 cash prize in an online competition – and already has big plans for the money. Douglas Bunn, 48, from Harlow, won the prize courtesy of online competition firm BOTB’s Lifestyle Competition.

The insurance salesman was at home when BOTB’s presenter, Christian Williams, turned up at his door with a suitcase full of cash to deliver the surprise in person. “You’re joking,” Douglas said in disbelief. “I cannot believe this! It means so much.”

Douglas and his wife are currently saving to buy a property in Italy – and the £60,000 win has brought them one step closer. He said: "This has helped make that dream more of a reality now."

He’s already put some of the winnings into premium bonds and an ISA to support their long-term savings goal. Christian said: “Douglas’s reaction was absolutely brilliant – from the disbelief to the joy, and he even gave me a kiss!
