‘I’m going to have to sit down’: Competition winner gets two luxury cars {{favouriteCount}} Quantity of Likes

A construction worker was left speechless after scooping two brand new cars worth £120,000 in an online car competition. Eugene Cadden, a manager for a dry-lining company, from Brixton was on-site in London when he was called by Best of the Best (BOTB) competition presenter Christian Williams with the news he was this week’s winner of the dream car competition.

Mr Cadden was shocked when told he had won a Range Rover Velar P400, worth £73,000, as well as a Mercedes AMG valued at £45,000. Mr Williams surprised him in a video call, flipping the camera to show him the two new prizes. Mr Cadden said: “My wife Theresa is always telling me not to bother with the game so I can’t wait to tell her I’ve won.”

“I do play pretty regularly, if I get time on a Sunday night, but I never believed I would win the grand prize.

“I played it in a real rush this time, just because I saw the two-car prize, and thought I had no chance.

“There’s been a lot going on in the family over the last couple of years and we’re definitely due a bit of luck.” Mr Cadden said he’d only bought a new car two months ago and it was difficult enough parking on the street with one car let alone three.

He said: “We barely need one car in London let alone three so maybe we’ll use some of the money to make our retirement dreams come true. “I moved from County Meath to Brixton 35 years ago and it would be lovely to have a place back across the water for our retirement.

Mr Williams said: “Eugene was absolutely stunned when we told him the news he’d won not one but two luxury cars, and it’s lovely to know it can make a real difference to his life.”

BOTB hands over the keys to a new car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Winners have received Rolex watches, holidays and motorbikes in recent months. The company was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £52million worth of cars so far.
