Island mum Louise Jones got the New Year surprise of her life when she landed at Gatwick Airport and was presented with a new Range Rover worth £65,000 and £20,000 in cash.

She was reduced to tears after she was greeted at the arrivals lounge by Christian Williams, of Best of the Best (BOTB) competition, who handed her the keys to the gleaming Range Rover Sport.

BOTB is a competition similar to 'spot the ball', where people have to guess where a ball is in a sporting contest.

Louise, 45, of Shanklin, and her husband had a go at the airport on the way out to Majorca.

Louise said: "It's absolutely amazing. I've never won anything in my life so to win this really is a dream come true."

She added: "My husband has played a few times at Gatwick before but this time we both played. Obviously I had the winning touch."

Within minutes of her win, Louise called her three sons to share the fantastic news with the whole family then began choosing the specification for her new dream car as she was travelling on the ferry back to her home on the Island.

She joked: "I've already been asked by one of my sons if he can go on the insurance. I think he might have to wait a few years and stick to my old Citroen for now."

"We have already planned our first road trip when we pick the Range Rover up, we'll head straight over to Bristol to see our other son at University."
