Electrician Karl Davies was already happy because he was on a day off from work - but then he got a call to say he'd just won a top-of-the-range Rolex watch.

Karl from Wirral was video called by BOTB's Christian Williams to let him know he'd scooped the £15,600 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in the firm's weekly lifestyle competition.

Karl, who paid just 75p for his ticket to enter the competition, said he had always wanted a Rolex.

The 50-year-old said: "I've had nice watches in the past but never a Rolex. I've been playing BOTB for about a year now and each week I enter the Lifestyle Competition for the Daytona. It's just beautiful!"

To enter the competition, all Karl had to do was answer a skilled question.

He said: "The question this week was on a famous quote said by Enzo Ferrari and you had to match up the missing word. Luckily I knew the answer straight away."

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is worn by the likes of Jay-Z, John Mayer and Kevin Hart but Karl said he would keep his watch for special occasions.

He said: "It's my fiancée Becky's 50th birthday at the end of June so we’re hopefully going on holiday to celebrate. I'll definitely be wearing it then!”

BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Other recent winners have bagged £15,000 cash, a holiday to Las Vegas and a gaming tech bundle.

The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £37m-worth of cars so far.
