A toddler swapped his Maclaren for a McLaren this week when his dad won a £126,000 ‘car of a lifetime'.

Prash Thurairatnam was surprised at his work - Tudor Lodge Health Centre in Victoria Drive, Wimbledon - on Tuesday morning by founder of car competition site Best of the Best (BOTB), William Hindmarch.

They were joined by Mr Thurairatnam’s wife, Lakshmi, and 16-month-old son, Ruben, who didn’t hesitate to climb into the supercar.

Mr Thurairatnam, from Kingston-upon-Thames, said: "My heart is still pumping, although I think I’ve missed a few beats.

"It’s amazing - it’s just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to say you own a dream car.

"We really need a new family car but I have always had crazy cars and now this.

"I have never even seen a McLaren in real life, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to top this."

The Thurairatnam family say the £10,000 will go towards a holiday or upgrades for the supercar

Mr Hindmarch, who’s given away £1.5million in cars this year, said: "We’re delighted that he has finally won and what an amazing car to win.

"You could see Ruben was taking to being in the driving seat, even at under two he was making the move from Maclaren pram to McLaren super car very easily!"
