Walsall dad wins £75k Aston Martin for just 18p in dream car draw
Mark Lyn-Kew from Walsall was stunned to win a £75,000 Aston Martin for just 18p after a night shift, thanks to BOTB.
A logistics worker from Walsall had to be repeatedly told he wasn't dreaming after he was woken up by a film crew presenting him with a £75,000 Aston Martin he won for just 18p.
Mark Lyn-Kew was sleeping off a night shift at Jaguar Land Rover when BOTB presenter Christian Williams knocked on his door.
Mark had entered a prize draw on the dream car giveaway platform just a few days before, and his 18p ticket turned out to be the winner.
As Christian led him out to see the stunning supercar, Mark asked if he could touch him to make sure it was real.
And as he first set eyes on it, he said: "You are kidding me. I can't breathe. What do you say to that? Thank you.
"I've just put some tyres on my car. Is this a dream? It's honestly hard to find words, but I'm grateful, and I'm ecstatic. Nobody's going to believe me."
Sitting in his 500bhp V8 car for the first time, he said: "It really feels like... How can this be me? It's fantastic absolutely fantastic. Things like this just don't happen to me.
"Honestly, after a night shift, the hard graft, this is still a dream, it has to be, it has to be.
"But you're physically here, the car seems to be here, it's unreal."
Christian then pointed out that Mark had the opportunity to either take the keys for the car, or to opt for a cash alternative instead.
"What would you spend it on?" asked Christian. And Mark's thoughts turned to his family.
"A holiday, for the kids, straight away", he said.
"We've just missed out on a trip to Disneyland, so we'd go straight to Disneyland - and probably the Florida one now.
"I could also pay off some of the mortgage for instance, that kind of thing. Just take some of the stress away and add a bit of magic for the kids."
BOTB gives away posh cars for peanuts every week, and the latest prize on offer is a McLaren 570GT worth £78,000 - tickets are priced at just 15p.
