A man setting up hot tubs at the Devon County Show in Exeter got more than he bargained for when a team surprised him with a brand new BMW M4 - with £10,000 stuffed in the boot.

Daniel Hill, who was setting up a stand for the show's opening tomorrow, was stunned when the BOTB crew turned up to surprise him with the keys.

BOTB was founded by Will Hindmarch in 1999 and has handed over the keys to more than £20m worth of luxury cars. Each week the company surprises a winner with their dream drive.

Daniel, 33, said: "I've always wanted an M4 and I saw one at the show ground eariler. Then out from behind a truck came the whole team from BOTB and I was just gob-smacked.

"Of course when you play you do dream about the moment you might win but you never actually think it will happen. When it does it just leaves you speechless - takes ages to sink in."

Daniel, who tours most of the UK and Ireland as part of his job setting up stands for Softub UK at shows and other events, said he had travelled on many roads but was itching to do it from behind the wheel of the M4.

"I think the Lake District has some of the best driving routes in the country and I really can't wait to take the car there," he said.

"It is a car for driving and enjoying in an indulgent everyday kind of way. I have never really hankered after the ultimate super cars like the Ferraris and Porsches. I wanted a car that looked stunning but could be part of my life everyday and that is the BMW M4. I just love it."

Daniel said his fiancee Cheryl was delighted when he called adding that he hoped the cash might help them to bring their wedding forward now.

"She was absolutely thrilled. It was great to call home with such good news especially when you are travelling for most of the year. I spend seven to eight months of the year working away so nice to have something to celebrate with her. Feeling very happy and very lucky."

BOTB's Christian Williams, who handed over the keys, said it was always a delight to see winners' reactions.

"I never get tired of seeing how shocked our winners are and you could see it hit Daniel like a thunderbolt," he said.

"The entire BOTB team works incredibly hard to track down the winners and even though Daniel was somewhere on a huge site we managed to track him down."
