This is the moment an electrician working on a development in Sheperd's Bush was handed the keys to the £145,000 supercar.

Francois Chklar won the Aston Martin DB9, which also had a suitcase with £10,000 cash in its boot, after taking part in the Best of the Best (BOTB) competition. The 36-year-old from Camden was busy at work at Aynhoe Road in Brook Green on Tuesday (March 15) when BOTB founder William Hindmarch turned up unannounced and presented him with the life-changing prize.

The dad of one, who is expecting his second child shortly, told getwestlondon: “I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t done much work today, my mind is all over the place. I’m very happy, ecstatic.

“I’d completely forgotten the results were coming out today. Will came up with his camera crew and surprised me. He asked if I recognised him and that was it.

“I was stunned. I was thinking if this was really happening to me. I couldn’t believe it had happened to me but it had.”

However, there was a bit of explaining to do when he broke the news to his partner Lydia.

He said: “I had told her I’d stopped playing, but I carried on a couple of more times without her knowing and it paid off.”

Will said he was delighted for Francois: “There’s a huge team of people at BOTB involved in the winner’s surprise and to see the reaction on Francois’ face when we turned up just makes the whole thing worthwhile.”
