BMW 530e M Sport

BMW 530e M Sport

REVIEW

It seems as if the days are numbered for the traditional large saloon like the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class with manufacturers pumping out SUV after SUV. But there are still plenty of people who want a comfortable saloon car and they will always be lighter and better to drive than an SUV. But with diesel being a bit of a dirty word these days where does the saloon buyer go? Well BMW would have them get into one of these – the 530e iPerformance. Using the combination of a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine and a hybrid system with electric motors it has a useful 248bhp and 420Nm of torque, which means if you’re in Eco mode you’ll get the equivalent of 118mpg and use just 49g/km of CO2. That is great news for those doing big miles as you get low running costs and still get the great driving aspects of a 5-Series. This M-Sport version also gets sportier exterior looks with more aggressive bumpers and larger wheels, so you look good while being eco friendly.
