MINI COOPER S SPORT

We love a little hot hatch here at BOTB and the Mini Cooper S has always been one of our favourites. With a combination of cute looks, go-kart handling and classless style there’s little that can compete.

Well now there’s a new Cooper S and it’s the last petrol powered version we’re going to get! This still has a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo engine powering the front wheels, now with 201bhp and 300Nm of torque, so performance is certainly sprightly. There’s no manual gearbox option any more sadly, but the 8spd auto gearbox is a fantastic thing to use so no complaints here.

Visually the new Cooper S takes the styling seen on the new electric Cooper SE (which has a totally different body, oddly), so there’s an aggressive front end with lots of intakes and vents, the standard issue black wheelarch extensions which really help the stance and new twin-bar LED headlights. The rear really sees the biggest change though with new angular rear lights. There’s a roof spoiler up top and a diffuser down low, though the Cooper S loses the trademark central exhaust pipes now.

The inside gets a major glow-up too, with a clean dash and a huge, gorgeous central OLED touchscreen for all the functions, while the dash itself gets funky lighting and there are new sports seats.

The coolest small hot hatch just got a whole lot better, and you could win one with BOTB!

INEOS GRENADIER BELSTAFF FIELDMASTER EDITION

If you liked the Land Rover Defender, you’ll love the Ineos Grenadier Belstaff Fieldmaster Edition.

The influences don’t stop there as it takes in the Defender, old Landcruiser and even the Merc G-Wagen at times. The Ineos Grenadier Belstaff Fieldmaster Edition is an exciting mix of classic 4x4s.

With a very upright, boxy shape, absolutely everything has a purpose. From the chunky front bumper, which can house a winch, to the bonnet tie-downs, door protection, functional and cool steel wheels, and integrated roof ties, it is a rugged machine designed to go anywhere.

The Grenadier has a pretty wild interior, too, with a design that looks like a helicopter cockpit, there are banks of big chunky buttons designed to be used while wearing gloves. It also has a giant screen for your infotainment and a massive bank of switches on the roof panel.

There are roof light panels above the driver and passenger seats, adding to the cabin's airy feel, and the floor can be hosed out.

The Grenadier may look old tech, but it’s far from it underneath, with a choice of BMW 3.0 litre turbocharged engines in 246bhp/550Nm diesel or 281bhp/450Nm petrol versions. Same price – you choose!

This is the new 4x4 people have been waiting for!
