Lexus GS-F

Lexus GS-F

REVIEW

We love a big performance saloon here at BOTB, but all you ever seem to hear is E63 this, M5 that. We like the left-field options here, like the Jaguar XJR, but now there’s a new contender in the ring and it hails from Japan. Lexus has a rich history of making incredibly comfortable big saloons and also some pretty impressive sports coupes, but this combines both – the GS-F. Taking their powerhouse 5.0 litre V8 – naturally aspirated no less in a time of turbos – with 471bhp, the GS-F certainly has the performance you want. 0-62mph comes up in just over 4.5 seconds, while there’s no wimpy 155mph restricted top speed here – this will top out at 168mph. One of the biggest benefits of a naturally aspirated V8 to a petrolhead is that the exhaust sound is generally a thing to behold and thankfully the GS-F doesn’t disappoint with a bassy rumble that builds to a rasping, snarling crescendo. You’ll be revving it out just to get your fix of that noise.
