Nissan Leaf e+ Tekna

Nissan Leaf e+ 3.Zero LE

REVIEW

On first inspection this doesn’t really look like the sort of car we usually feature here on BOTB, but what you’re actually looking at is one of the first EV hot hatches. This new Nissan Leaf e+ Tekna takes the standard Leaf (which is the biggest selling EV ever) and ramps up the battery tech and motors to allow for 214bhp – that’s proper hot hatch power – meaning a sub-7 seconds sprint to 62mph. Sure the top speed increases to only 96mph, but given the speed limit is no more than 70mph in the UK is that really a problem? The suspension gets tweaks, there are bigger wheels and there’s all the tech kit you could imagine in this Tekna model too, so you can bet this is going to be a great car to live with every day. Did we also mention that it will do 239 miles on a charge? That’s enough to drive from London to Manchester which is more than enough for most people. Behold the EV revolution!
