« Back Porsche Cayenne S Coupe
It all started with the BMW X6. Someone decided that they loved a big, high riding SUV but they are all a bit too boxy, so let’s add a sloping coupe-like roofline to make it sexier. Mercedes joined in with the GLE Coupe shortly after and now the latest player has entered the ring, and it’s a big one - Porsche. The Cayenne is the car that saved Porsche, but has remained largely the same since its introduction – a large SUV that in all honesty already had a sleeker rear than other rivals. But now they’ve introduced this Cayenne Coupe and it has transformed the looks of the Cayenne.
The roofline sits 20mm lower, while from the B-Pillar back the roof now slopes dramatically to the rear end which has more than a hint of Panamera and 992 to it. This Cayenne S Coupe sits in the middle of the range, above the base model but below the fire breathing Turbo. A 2.9 litre twin turbo V6 sits under the hood (closely related to the engine in the Audi RS4) and produces 434bhp and 550Nm of torque. That’s good enough for a 5.0 second sprint to 62mph and a 163mph top speed.
