Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Package

Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Package

REVIEW

When Porsche launched the Cayenne in 2002 they hit the jackpot – the SUV market was just opening up to the whole world and growing massively, while people wanted a premium sporty offering that the Cayenne fitted perfectly. As it was based on a VW Touareg it also made Porsche obscene amounts of profit which paid for the development of our favourite sports cars. So that's a win-win scenario to us. Now, they've decided to tap into the smaller SUV market too, with the new Macan. Featuring V6 engines, compact dimensions and handling to eclipse some of the best sports cars, the Macan is set to be Porsche's biggest selling model ever. This Macan Turbo with Performance Pack is the new top of the range model too, so gets the bigger 3.6 litre twin turbo V6 engine with Porsche’s Powerkit and produces a rather impressive 434 bhp – that’s more than a 996 Turbo could muster. All of which means that this 1.9 tonne SUV can hit 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds and power on to 169 mph. Much like the GTS model does with the regular model, this PP gives you a lot more kit as standard than the price jump would suggest – Sport Chrono, PASM, larger brakes and a switchable sports exhaust are all standard and account for £2500 of the extra £5500 over the Turbo. So it really is a great value package and one we can’t wait to get our hands on.
