Well, here it is – the reinvention of an icon. The all-new Defender!

Alongside the Aston Martin Vantage, this must have been one of the hardest design jobs in the business – replace one of the most iconic cars on the roads today, one that dates back decades and has in recent times had a resurgence thanks to the rugged cool looks. But you couldn’t go too retro or people would say it isn’t modern, so there are certainly nods to the old Defender, but it’s a fresh design that sits well in the Land Rover lineup.

Chunky wheelarches, the signature floating roof with ‘Alpine windows’ in the top, a dominating grille and big chunky tyres so you can drive over anything.

Inside it's far more modern, full of the latest tech, but it still has a reassuringly old school feel to the layout. Being the 90 model, this Defender has a short wheelbase, 3 doors and plenty of room inside, while SE spec brings LED headlights, funky white retro steel wheels, keyless entry, Meridien sound system and so much more.

This is the P300 model, so it has a 2.0 litre petrol engine producing 296bhp and 400Nm of torque. That gives  great performance - 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, along with a surprisingly sporty soundtrack!

We just love a Defender 90 and you could win one in the BOTB Midweek Lifestyle Competition!
