Win a Toyota GR86 + £2,000

OR TAKE £27,000 CASH
£1.20

The Toyota GT86 was a breath of fresh air in the sports car world. Lightweight, low power, cheap, skinny tyres. It was the absolute antithesis of something like the Audi RS3, a car designed for driving purists on a modest budget. It was never a huge seller, but thankfully Toyota has stuck with it and replaced it with an all-new model.

So out goes GT86, and in comes GR86 – to fit in with the GR Yaris and GR Supra, you see – and it's more of the same, but a little bit more fiery.

The new engine retains the same block used in the outgoing GT86 but has been bored from 2.0 to 2.4 litres! There’s a whole chunk more power and torque this time, with 232bhp and 250Nm, which, thanks to the weight staying the same, means 0-62mph takes 1.1 seconds less at 6.3.

Visually the GR86 is undoubtedly an evolution of the old model, but there’s a more aggressive stance and an altogether prettier face. The rear is more kicked-up, and overall it seems wider without actually growing in dimensions.

Inside, the no-nonsense approach continues, with many simple buttons and a nice gearstick to row through the 6-speed manual (an auto is optional).

The GR86 will surely be a huge hit, and if the old model is anything to go by, it’ll also be a great thing to drive. And you could win one in the BOTB Midweek Lifestyle Competition!

NOTE: Due to limited supply, the GR86 is currently sold out. BOTB will work with the winner to source an as-new example from the second-hand market up to the value of £35,000.
