Maidenhead man to share £110,000 prize with his twin brother

Oct 2020

A Maidenhead man who scooped a brand-new BMW X5 worth £63,000 plus £50,000 in cash thanks to an online car competition is vowing to split the prize with his twin.

Andrew Essex, 53, has shown the true bond of brotherhood after vowing to split his £110,000 prize with his twin, Mark.

He said: “Ever since we were kids, we’ve shared many things.
“We’re very close. We’re twins, but we work together too and we just always have split everything down the middle.”

The competition was run by the Best of the Best competitions company that has been operating in major UK airports since 1999. The company gives two cars away every week.

Andrew said: “We’ve both played BOTB for years, since we first saw them in the airports.

“I played for the X5 because my wife used to have an X3 and they’re just fantastic cars.

“I’m still in shock that this is happening, it’s crazy. We’re having our roof done at the moment so it’s perfect timing for us as the cash will really help with that.

“Mark will probably put his half towards a new car - we both love our motors.”
