Lucky Ismail won way back in 2014 and was always confident his day would come again... and now it has!"What can I say?!" Ismail exclaimed excitedly whilst sitting inside the gleaming 500bhp SUV!

But the surprise wasn't over yet, because this Defender was on a special promotion last week, which meant it also came with a massive £100,000 cash! Ismail is already planning to give some to charity. How amazing!

Luckiest man in London wins new Land Rover Defender and £100k 8 years after he won BMW in same competition

Apr 2022

A ludicrously lucky Londoner has won a new Land Rover and £100k in cash, just eight years after he won a BMW in the same competition. Ismail Ghandour couldn't believe his luck when a host of the BOTB Dream Car Competition turned up at his central London office to tell him he'd won for the second time in a decade.

The 59-year-old is the lucky recipient of a Land Rover Defender 110 V8 worth £104,000, plus the £100k in the boot. But he has vowed not to keep the entire cash-and-car prize for himself.

Ismail, who is the CEO of property investors Ace Liberty and Stone, has promised to donate a chunk of his winnings to charity. "I don’t know which charity yet but it will definitely go to a good cause," said the businessman, who has been playing BOTB for more than a decade.

The dad-of-three had his last win back in 2014, when he bagged a BMW. Ismail, who lives in central London with his wife and three children, clearly thought his luck hadn't run dry though. "I said I’d keep playing and keep practising,” he explained, and he added that now, “I’m even trying to teach my son how to play.”

BOTB hands over the keys to two "dream" cars each week, on top of the lifestyle prize. Other recent winners of the competition have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash. The company has given away more than £47m worth of cars since it was founded in 1999, launching from Heathrow Airport.

BOTB uses former professional footballers to judge the competition independently each week, alongside current and former referees. The Fulham-based company, which counted its 500th winner in 2019, and has had winners all across the globe with some brilliant reactions - so for one lucky Londoner to have come first twice in eight years is pretty incredible.
