Merseyside Mum Blown Away By £140,000 Range Rover Win

Clare from Merseyside was completely blown away when Christian showed up at her house this morning – and that was before she saw her new Range Rover P550e Autobiography worth nearly £140,000!

“It just doesn’t feel real,” Clare giggled, “it feels more like a dream. I can’t even speak… How am I meant to go back to work now?”

With her husband and daughter by her side, Clare popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate her life-changing win.

It’s five o’clock somewhere!

Mum-of-five faces 'tough decision' after she's offered 'life-changing' sum of cash

May 2024

A mum-of-five who bagged a top-of-the-range SUV worth nearly £140k in an online competition says she would be "scared to drive" her incredible prize.

Clare Newcombe, from Bootle, won the £138,555 Range Rover P550e Autobiography after entering a dream car contest run by BOTB (Best of the Best). The 41-year-old only started putting her name in the weekly competition - which has been running since 1999 - four weeks ago.

She said: "It just didn’t feel real and it felt more like a dream. I never win anything and never imagined I would ever win something this big.”

Clare now has a big decision to make, as she can either accept the expensive car, which has a top 542bhp and a top speed of 150mph, or take a cash alternative.

She said: "It’s a gorgeous car, but I’ll be so scared to drive it. If you look at those alloys, they’re waiting to be scratched.

“The sensible thing to do would be to take the cash as there is so much more we could do with it. Taking the kids on holiday in the summer would be the top priority - somewhere hot where there are plenty of waterslides to keep everyone happy.”

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “A massive congratulations to Clare for winning this stunning vehicle. She was clearly in shock when we turned up at her doorstep and I can imagine she struggled to go back to work knowing she had won a £140,000 new car.

“It’s obviously a tough decision to choose between the car and life-changing amount of cash, but I’m sure she’ll enjoy either once she’s decided what she’s going to do.”
