Dream Car competition winner & results Thomas Walters - Toyota GT86 04 - 10 May 2020 (Week 19)

CLOSE X

A few clicks... the winning pix... and it's a GT86!

Thomas Walters had just fallen asleep after a night shift working for a medical supplier of Covid-19 tests when Christian called to deliver some amazing news... that he'd just become dream car winner 526 scooping the tremendous Toyota GT86!

"I can't believe this is happening!" exclaimed Thomas who was clearly delighted to have been woken up. Thomas usually plays for the cheaper-priced Jimny but had a good feeling about the Spot The Ball picture this week and so went for the £28,000 GT86 instead - a car he'd always dreamed of having but couldn't afford.

Thomas hasn't had much luck this year after tearing a cartilage in his knee whilst playing football, so this is very welcome news indeed and he can't wait to take this fun little car for a spin in the Welsh mountains near his home!  Massive congrats Thomas!

Bridgend Footballer Wins £28,000 Sports Car

May 2020

A semi-professional Welsh footballer will be driving around in style after winning a Toyota GT86 sports car worth £28,000, thanks to dream car competition, BOTB.

Thomas Walters, from Bridgend, plays as a forward for Welsh League Cymru South side Goytre AFC, and was left stunned this week after BOTB presenter Christian Williams rang to surprise him with the news.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” said the 23-year-old, who has been on the injury list since last year after tearing the cartilage in his knee.

“I was actually looking at buying a GT86 and now I’ve won one.”

Thomas is currently working on the manufacturing line for a medical supplies company making Covid-19 tests, but he used his footballing brain to win the competition, which works in the form of an online version of the classic spot the ball.

Thomas can’t wait to be able to take his new car on some of the scenic routes nearby to his home in south Wales.

“There are a lot of mountains and hills around where I live with some amazing views,” he said.

“There is one drive here called the Bwlch, it’s a famous route and one I’ll definitely be going on.”

BOTB presenter Christian Williams surprises winners all over the world every week, although during coronavirus he will be doing surprises over video chat, rather than visiting the winners on their doorsteps.

“The GT86 is a really nice car and Thomas is certainly going to be looking the part when he arrives at training in the future,” said Christian.

“It sounds like there are some great driving routes near to where Thomas lives and we hope he has a lot of fun in his new car.”

TESTIMONIAL

This website has changed my life. Just playing with a couple of pound a week has been fun without winning anything and seeing how close I can get. But now being a winner myself I have got enough money to live a better life and buy my first house. At the age of 23 I never thought I’d win anything like this. The staff that work behind the scenes are incredible. They are very polite and get everything done within 48 hours. I would suggest this website to anyone for the fun side of it and who knows... maybe you could be a winner too.
