Lucky Louth woman scoops £20k prize just as she really needs it

Jan 2024

A lucky Louth woman has received the perfect housewarming gift after scooping a £20,000 cash prize courtesy of online competition specialists BOTB.

Jackie Langton received a surprise video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams who told her she was this week’s Midweek Lifestyle Competition winner.

Jackie plans on using the cash to spend on the new home she has just moved into - including repairing her leaking garage.
“It’s a godsend to have won and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” the 65-year-old said. “We have just moved house and our garage needs repairing as it is leaking water and the element has gone on our oven.

“I’m also semi-retired so I have to watch the pennies.” Jackie, who has worked for a company dealing in film and TV props, also hopes to use some of the money for a holiday. “I would love to go to Cyprus, but there are other things to prioritise first,” she said.

She's entered BOTB competitions before, but never expected to receive a call. .“I’ve played a few times before and never thought it was going to be me,” she added.

Christian said: “A huge congratulations to Jackie for winning this great cash prize. Moving house is always very expensive and I am sure the money will come in very handy, starting with replacing that leaking roof.”

BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Winners have bagged Rolex watches, holidays and motorhomes in recent months

BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away a whopping £64m-worth of cars so far.
