Nottingham lorry driver plans to get married after winning Mercedes and £30,000

Jul 2022

A lorry driver from Nottingham is set to get married after winning a £30,000 cash prize. Craig Dobbyn can finally marry his girlfriend after scooping up the winning money. The 46 year old was having tea with his parents when he had a surprise visit from company BOTB, a dream car and lifestyle competition, to announce him as the winner. Christian Williams from BOTB broke the news.. The prize of £30,000 also came with a Mercedes A250 AMG Line which had £2,000 in the boot. Craig said: "I couldn’t believe it when I saw him. I had to pinch myself.” The lorry driver said he would use the money to go on holiday to Thailand and marry his girlfriend Mon. He said: “I’ve been saving up for a while

"She lives out there at the moment but once we get married and have been on our honeymoon, she’ll move to the UK so we can live together.”

Craig never expected to win the prize after paying £1.20 for his lucky ticket. He added: "I thought I was just coming to my parents for a pork chop tea, so to win a top-of-the-range Mercedes with cash in the boot is just unbelievable. I’m totally shocked!

“I’ve driven tens of thousands of miles in my career and I can’t wait to drive some more in this." BOTB gives out car prizes every week as well as the lifestyle prize.

Christian, who surprises the BOTB winners each week, said: “It sounds like the win for Craig has come at just the right time ahead of his holiday to Thailand. Massive congratulations on his upcoming wedding from all of us at BOTB!”

TESTIMONIAL

Couldn't believe it when I won a Mercedes AMG line and £2,000 in cash. Every Thursday I go to my Mum and Dad's for dinner, I was there 5 minutes when the doorbell rang - Christian was at the door with a camera man! I was in total shock, never believed it would happen to me, never win anything. In the end I decided on the cash alternative, which was £30,000. I dealt with a lovely lady named Vanessa who talked me through everything – all really simple and the money was in my bank within 24 hours. I can’t thank BOTB enough, I am truly grateful - really recommend them to everyone!
