From Frames to Flames: Window Fitter Claims a Hot £63,000 Mercedes Prize!

Window fitter Antony won himself a brand new Mercedes AMG A45-S Plus worth £63,285 with an extra £2,000 cash prize in today’s Midweek Lifestyle Competition.

The Bradford local was randomly selected as this week’s lucky winner after correctly identifying that ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ is, in fact, a Madonna song, not an Elton John song.

“It’s surreal,” Antony said. “I didn’t ever think I’d get the call. I can relax a bit more now, financially. It’s a big win.”

The video call signal may have been dodgy, but Antony was still standing – we had to put an Elton reference in somewhere!

Well done, Antony – we’re pane-fully excited to see what colour you go for!

Question:

Which of these is not an Elton John song?

Answer:

Papa Don't Preach

Explanation:

'Papa Don't Preach' is a Madonna song, not an Elton John song.

Bingley man wins Mercedes and cash prize in competition

Jul 2023

Window fitter Antony Preuss, of Bingley, claimed the prizes from the online competition firm BOTB. Antony received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams who surprised him with the news he had won a Mercedes AMG A45-S Plus worth £63,285 alongside an extra £2,000 cash prize. The 35-year-old was randomly selected as this week’s lucky Midweek Lifestyle Competition winner.

“It’s surreal,” Antony said.

“When I pick the car up I guess it will feel a bit more real.

“I never thought I’d get the call. Luck has certainly come my way.

“I can relax a bit more now, financially. It’s a big win and I am sure my mum will be over the moon when I tell her.

“I’ve been playing on and off for about three years. I know it sounds like a cliche, but you really do have to be in it to win it. You’ve got to have fun with it and play within your budget.” The Mercedes AMG A45-S Plus features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine which produces a staggering 415bhp and a top speed of 168mph.

“I don’t know much about the details of this car, but I know it has got enough power for me," Antony said.

“I have currently got a Volvo V60 so this is certainly an upgrade. It will be nice not having to think about repairs."

Christian, who called Antony from Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, said: “A huge congratulations to Antony on winning this amazing prize. “This car is phenomenal. It’s such a great vehicle to be in and I am sure he will love driving it when he gets behind the wheel.” BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.

Winners have bagged Rolex watches, holidays, and motorbikes in recent months. The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £53m worth of cars so far.

Last year, a Bradford barber scooped a top-of-the-range Volkswagen Golf through BOTB - all from a £1.50 competition ticket. Haydn White, 24, was at work when BOTB’s Sean Hall turned up to tell him he was the owner of a new £38,760 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport as well as being £10,000 richer.
