The era of the Grand Tourer is dead – say hello to the new Super Tourer – the Aston Martin DB12.

Now firstly let’s address the elephant in the room – it may be called DB12 but there’s no V12 engine, that ship has sailed on production Aston Martins now. But when you see the specs you won’t even think twice about more cylinders.

Secondly don’t let the looks fool you – this may look like someone stuck a DBS front end on a DB11 but this DB12 is 80% new – and it’s new in all the places that really matter.

So that engine – it’s the same basic 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 as was in the DB11, but with a whole host of upgrades and tweaks so it now produces a staggering 671bhp and 800Nm of torque. That’s enough to propel this continent-crushing coupe to 62mph in just 3.5 seconds on the way to a 202mph top speed.

Looks-wise it’s very much an upgraded DB11, with the rear end mostly the same, but the nose has taken on a wider and deeper grille, more swept-back LED headlights and just a whole load more attitude mixed with a big bag of gorgeous thrown in.

But the biggest change has to be inside – gone is the decade-old Merc tech and in comes a fully Aston-developed new infotainment system, with a new dash layout that has the perfect mix of touchscreen and buttons. And there’s the option of the gorgeous carbon shell sports seats from the latest V12 Vantage too.

The Sports Tourer of the future is here – and you could win one with BOTB!
